Holmby Hills proposed HPOZ terminated on Sept 30, 2016 .
In a letter from Paul Koretz , Council Member to the 5th District for the Holmby Westwood Community, Mr. Koretz announced his reasoning in making this decision .Mr Koretz stated in the letter ,”I have listened and met with all sides and points of view and my office has attended numerous community meetings regarding this issue. The common theme with the Holmby Westwood Community is a strong desire to protect the neighborhood. It is also clear, however, that the proposed HPOZ is not the type of protection a majority of the community is seeking. “ The letter goes on to elaborate this decision further.
At a time when people feel their voice is often unheard by their politicians ,many Holmby Westwood residents feel the voice the majority expressed was heard!. Paul Koretz took a bold move and reversed a proposed HPOZ when he determined the majority of homeowners did not want a HPOZ in this neighborhood. Discussions within the community continue.
